when you say "commercial project" does that include if its free to play ?

Commercial projects mean those that you are going to sell. If you make a project that you're not charging money for, then all you need to add is a credit. But ANY money for the project and you MUST own Ace. Credit is necessary even if you don't have a commercial project, though.
