No Mother Here

This game is about ten seconds long, but it was made in a day and uses all custom graphics, so that's good, right?

The story follows a youngish... child of some sort (I thought it was a girl but then he stood up to pee, so it's all up in the air) as they try to escape their dreadful life at an orphanage. That's all. It was made in a day. Deal with it.

The graphics are not particularly well used (I know it was made in a day and kudos for that, but the counters don't have tops for goodness sake) but the sprites are endearing in a Mother 2/Earthbound sort of way, although obviously much rougher.

It's hard to say much about this other than that it's probably worth playing if you like very short stories but not otherwise. There's no real gameplay, it's all story all the time. It took me approximately the same length of time to play as it would to read a short newspaper article, but it was slightly more enjoyable than that. I won't give it a star rating because I feel that would be silly.

Oh my, what a surprise! Thank you so much for reviewing!;;
This game was an experiment of sorts, indeed - as I said, it's my first finished attempt;; - but I'm glad you could enjoy some aspects of it!

The graphics are quite rougher than my average style which is already pretty unintentionally unpolished b-but anyway. For instance, I chose to go without tops for the counters because I figured they'd blend with the (similarly white) walls anyway. It's all very minimalistic.

Still, I'm glad you thought the story was enjoyable!

(Really late edit but seriously now, I think that any comparision to Mother is unfair! It was just a short experiment, but thanks;)
