Announcement

... And Version 2.0 is released!

Referencing the RPG Cliche list, this game has:
70 Aversions, 6 of which are maybe aversions
24 Subversions, 10 of which are maybe subverted
7 played straight, 2 of which are doubtful, but put as "played straight" just in case

Changelog/Bugfixes:
- Facesets added for everything! If there's a faceset I missed, please tell me xD
- Added an extra intro scene that makes the story more coherent (I hope)
- Sprinkled hints around that alluded to the overarching story in monster encounters, the final battle, as well as skills
- Skills are now much more relevant to each character.
(At levels 8-10, bits of backstory will be revealed through the skill names)

Announcement

Version 1.??/2.0 will suffer a delay

Edit: No longer relevant, but remember to backup anyways. Managed to fix my computer in 3 days then reworked the game over the course of one day.

Yeah, so. Bad news.
I'm writing this on my iPad, but it seems that electricity outages in my area has caused my old desktop PC to pretty much BSOD.

It's possible to restore it, of course, but then I'd lose all the files I've been working on thus far, including several projects I have yet to release to the general public, as well as the in-progress version of Frog.

I managed to get a command prompt up and have found a way to get to the user login screen, but on the user login screen keyboard/mouse input don't work at all, and I'm not exactly sure how to save both my files and my computer. (Hey, it's like the dilemma of a pregnant woman! Save the baby or save the lady? Except in this case it's probably impossible to save the baby.)

Boot in safe mode has literally caused a BSOD, along with a restart. Really, I have no idea what to do at this point. I could ask my father (a tech guy) but he's probably going to just reinstall the entire OS. Ugh.

So, until the computer gets back up and running, Frog 2.0 probably won't be coming out of the floorboards anytime soon.

Moral of the story: ALWAYS BACK UP FILES. ALWAYS.

This is a word of warning. Back up those files now, to Skydrive, Dropbox... anything. Just make sure that your files have some copy of themselves out in the cloud.

You might think it'll never happen to you (honestly, I thought it'd never happen either), but it might, whether from power outages or a spilled cup of coffee. One day, the person writing a rant about lost files might be you.

Progress Report

Version 1.?? or 2.0, I guess, in development!

ETA: 3 days!

This'll be a major fix to the game's pacing, and will add a bunch of little details that will make the overarching story/twist much more coherent.

Sneak peek:

The cave where they had hid, before the flood.

Announcement

Version 1.0 Released!

It has been done.
But it also has not been fully tested, instead, the game has only undergone segmented testing of each map. So there may be game-breaking bugs that I'm not aware of... please notify me!

Theme of the event was Cliches: http://project-apollo.net/text/rpg.html

I only looked at the top 104 cliches, but, in this game there are:
71 Aversions, 6 of which are maybe aversions
24 Subversions, 10 of which are maybe subverted
6 played straight, 2 of which are doubtful, but put as "played straight" just in case

Progress Report

Version 1.0 Early Sunday Release

Release is soon! Some of the screens are inaccurate at this point due to major story revisions, but given that this game was made in ~4 days, I'd say I did a pretty okay job, especially since my first game took over a year to check the "complete" box.
