Progress Report

Sequel Progress!

Well, folks, thought I was dead? Nyah, that can't happen, I'm cursed to live forever. That's why I decided to do something productive, what do you think I did? Worked on the sequel, of course. Game page is ready folks, just click 'ere!

So, as you might expect, the classic shooting mini-game has followed its way up here, but the one thing you'll see a lot of, is the active battle system, which does not play out in a turn based order and neither does it require you to tap buttons; you must move rapidly, attacking the enemies with spells (!). The spells not only act as weapons, but also tools, some spells attack enemies, while some protect you from damage, use the spells tactically to your advantage. And that is just a small example of what to come, so, look out!

This is what boredom does to people.

I made a game out of sheer boredom! Yay for meh!

Here's an experiment of mine to see how simple a game can be made in Rm2k3, inspired by Left in the Dark by Spirit Young-

CLICK ME!

The story is pretty bizzare- it's about an indian Super-Hero named Drona, who has retired after seeing cooler super heroes have replaced him. That's when he chased his childhood dream of becoming a hair-stylist. He opened up a barber shop and began his business. He used his amazing swordsmanship skills to slice up hair within seconds! It was all going well, until a group of gangsters took over the city. Drona, hoping for a rescue from the other heroes, realized that duty has called upon him one more time, so now he must defeat this evil crooks!
(I know, right?!)
The mechanics are simple, you sneak up behind enemies and you subdue them. That's ALL, however, I have added in destructible environments that you can use against your foes, and some small puzzles here and there. I have also used soundtracks from classic NES games that I really enjoyed. (Mega Man, Castlevania, the works...)

The game is complete! Confetti- it's a parade!

NOTES--
-> Save files from the v1.3 will work.
-> Ending may seem a bit incomplete, but that's because I have a sequel planned.
-> Music choice has improved a little from last time.
-> The strong dialogue has been toned down a few notches.
-> A few changes in sound tracks.
-> Takes about an hour or two to complete from the start.

Downloads are on their way, just waiting for verification.

Game Design

Designing Ending Sequence!!

Designing the ending sequence of the game, along with the boss fight, working working working. And also replaying and checking every nook and cranny for bugs. So work, work, work is all I gotta do, and it's not helping how I am getting stumped about how the finishing scene should progress...

In the mean time-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_AJmVWF2LI&feature=plcp -- a must watch for you God of War II players!

Game Design

Almost complete! YES!

I am currently designing the last area, and deciding on how shocking I can make the ending and how cliff-hanger-ish and incomplete I should leave it. Any questions left unanswered will be answered in the next part! It may be done in the course of the next few days, though I'm wonder, whether I should make the last area too long or make it short because the players will be very excited and the obstacles in the way may irritate them or something, so I'd love some feedback about the length of the last "dungeon".

Progress Report

Version 1.3 coming right up, sir!

My work has paid off. The game's length has increased, as it will go up to the last... "dungeon", as I would call it. The adventure through will not be pleasant for the mind due to the twist a few minutes before the demo ends and also because of a difficult shooting mini game, which you can do easily if you're explorative! If it is too hard, then PM me, and I'll tell you the easy way out. And also, I've added a few save files in case a few un-fixable glitches or bugs come in the way. And also, save files will might now work, try from the start again please - and my apologies. That's all. Enjoy yourself.

NEWS!

I don't know why, but ideas have been sprouting inside me today. So, I got lots of stuff into the game, and very soon, it's about to be finished, and I'd rather send up a finished game, than small progress upgrades here and there, so look out! And also, this game may be short, but I've got a sequel planned, which will be much better, as I will have improved on everything going from mapping, choice of music, dialogue, etc., which is why I decided for a fresh start rather than working on a stale one, so that's why the ending may seem a bit rushed, but all questions will be answered in the sequel. And I plan on making it big.

And I thank all of you for getting me back on the road, otherwise you would have seen a canceled project here.
