The Magistratum DREYFUS, a volunteer academic trained to deal in criminal and civil matters on an evangelical basis, assigns himself to his hometown of CARTONIA, after an absence of 20 years. Governmental structures, all held together by the power of Arcana: cards with intricate patterns of grids and numbers on them that, when combined with users well-trained in the Arts, produce energies unimaginable.

It's an ill-kept secret that some use the Grid for nefarious deeds, but the Grid also upholds order. Towns levelled, important figures assassinated; sometimes it's easier to turn a blind eye.

The definition of what a "Magistratum" truly is, remains a matter of hot debate among civilians in The City. Some say that “true Magistrata do not tell tales”, others believe that is a lie. Will you tell tales? Or will you revolt?
