I don't really know if you people like that game but, i'll put up this topic anyway. (this may sound like a propaganda)
Deus EX OLD but a very interesting futuristic FPS game (Can i call it a RPG? You have EXP points and can upgrade your character with augmentations and improve some abilities)
It have a nice plot (it could be more free but its nice)
The maps are very explorable, and full of interative things.
You can be a crazy berserk or a sneaky bastard or simply go in a killing spree with a glowing blue sword!
So my thing to you guys and girls is:
Whats you opinion on the game?
Did anyone ever stop to read EVERY SINGLE thing in the game like those newspapers and PDAs and books and stuff?
How about the hability customization?
The augmentations?
And the plot?

Fantastic game. I should play it again. I own both the PC and PS2 versions. Plot is neato torpedo. There's no real wrong way to customize your augmentations, it all depends on how you play.
Shame the sequel was meh. :\

I liked the game. But already on the second playtrhough I started to see seams. Actually already in the first one since I was roleplaying heavily, being as loyal to the UNATCO as I could. I would have killed my brother and exposed the goodguys if I had had the choice.
Of course I didn't have the choice. But the game gave me a lot of choices in the first playthrough anyway. But on the second playthrough I noticed that no matter what choice I made the end result was the same.
But still an awesome game. Even if I don\t really remember too many details anymore. The main theme was excellent though. And it had the Illyminati. And anything with the Illuminati is good in my book (Except perhaps that Dan Brown movie)

I liked it a lot - a lot of it's design is still pretty unique and I think a lot of other games would be improved by following some of them. Legitimate multiple ways to complete a single objective in particular was awesome. It really gave the feeling that you had some control over how events played out, rather than just following some predefined script. I always felt the Splinter Cell games should have borrowed that. One thing it did really poorly was art design. If I remember right the characters didn't have ears (or appeared not to do to the low poly modeling). Every person in the game looked unintentionally creepy.
It really was a shame about the sequel. The original even at release you could feel that the technology limits held it back in a lot of ways. Second one really should have been a big leap forward and instead they dropped everything that made the first one good.

I never got around to playing it seriously - it just never dragged me in compared to games like STRIFE and SYSTEM SHOCK. It's wierd, I SHOULD love this game but it just didn't stick. I have to try it again sometime.
One thing i whanted to try was to actualy read every thing, lke the newspapers and all the books.... There is a lot of background information in those things.
