WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING THESE DAYS?

We have a reading topic, a game playing topic and a music/listening topic but we seem to be missing a watching topic!

TV
I've been following House and Criminal Minds (and Grey's Anatomy *welp*) with fair regularity. I've also caught most of FlashForward. I started watching the latest season of Heroes but grew tired of it. I watched seasons 1 ~ 3 but finally gave it up.

House is still awesome (pretty good for 6 seasons!) and Criminal Minds is simply the best cop drama on TV right now. My wife loves 'em so I watch a lot. CSI:NY is okay, too, but its starting to fall into the "all about the characters and not about interesting cases" trap that the original CSI is stuck in. My wife watches Grey's so I watch it too. The last couple of episodes have been really good, actually.

I've also been watching a lot of CFL games and SportCenter.

TV on DVD
I've recently watched Scrubs seasons 1 ~ 8 and Star Trek TNG seasons 4, 6 and 7 (I lent a friend season 5). Scrubs is awesome.

Theatres
I recently saw Zombieland, which was great. I doubt I'll be going to any more movies at the theatres any time soon, though.

Movies
Kung Fu!! I've been watching a lot of movies lately: Iron Monkey, Kung Fu Panda, Kung Fu Hustle, Hero, Cradle 2 the Grave, and Legend of the Drunken Master off the top of my head. I also watched Transformers 2.

I plan on renting GI Joe this week and watch that for the first time.
TV:
Desperate Housewives and SpongeBob!

TV on DVD:
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha
( Just can't get time to watch >.< )

Theatres:
Lookin' forward to an amateur act with my steady in the main role.

Movies:
I didn't go to the cinema in a while... Last movie I watched was "Up"

I like Teletubbies. But whenever I can catch an episode of Barney I run to the challenge!
I seriously only watch Peep Show.

Barney made the suicide rate in the USA go up by 73%.
TV
I don't watch TV. But the TV-shows I follow through torrent sites are plentiful. I've really been digging Community and Glee which are both new shows for this Fall and are pretty darn awesome.

TV on DVD
If that means shows that aren't airing I'm in the progress of downloading Tudors which I hope will be good. And I'll start watching that as soon as I have more free time (next week)

Theatre
I'm in a revue that opens on Saturday. Though I guess I won't actually be watching that.

Cinema
I've decided to boycott cinema for the time being. Mostly because they decided to give Saw VI a theatrical release but not Zombieland!

FUCK YOU CINEMAS AND YOUR DISTRIBUTORS YOU SUCK.

Movies on DVD
I have a bunch of unwatched movies. I will have to do something about that. Including such films that I should have watched for Halloween but I just didn't have the time (Dead Snow and Day Watch)

Man why did I reply to this. I should have replied next week when I've actually seen some stuff instead...
TV on DVD
Occasionally I'll pop in an episode of M*A*S*H, How I Met Your Mother, Seinfeld, or Fresh Prince. Other than sitcoms, I just finished Six Feet Under so no other drama feels as good anymore. Still recovering, I guess. I'm about 2 episodes into Dexter season 3. And animu-wise I kinda like Monster, even though nothing else interests me.

Theaters
Zombieland and Where the Wild Things Are. The former was fun, and the latter felt more like an art project than a movie. Still glad I saw it. And Claire from SFU is one of the things, which was awesome.

Also, I saw the stage performance The Trickster of Seville. Despite being 3 hours long and neck-deep in heavy metaphorical dialogue, I liked it.

Movies
I've got a lot of movies to watch. Most recently I bought Yasujiro Ozu's Early Summer, but haven't gotten to watching it yet. What I did just see was if..., a satire on boys boarding schools starring Malcolm Macdowell. It's probably one of my favorite movies now. It had nearly everything I like seeing in movies. Oh, and before that I watched the Korean rom-com My Sassy Girl, which was really funny and ridiculous. I needed something sweet after watching so many fucked up horror movies in October.

my steady

you're a time traveller from the 50s! i knew it all along!

TV
If I'm going to watch TV, I'm either watching The Colbert Report or Real Time with Bill Maher.
That, or I'll watch anything on the watered-down American version of the BBC BECAUSE IT'S STILL THE FUCKING BBC.

TV on DVD
I watched like 7 episodes of the first season of Doctor Who (with Christopher Eccleston) yesterday. It was intense.
I've also been trying to finish Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, the best anime ever. Subs not dubs!

Theatre
I'm in the middle of a production of The Rocky Horror Show, playing Rocky. As is the case with Shinan, there's not much chance of me actually watching the show. :/

Cinema
I actually don't remember the last film I went to see. I think it was that one with Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl... Right, The Ugly Truth. It wasn't awful. Predictable as fuck.
There was one epic moment in the cinema when I went to see it, and Gerard Butler was like "I just have three words to say to you..." And without even thinking, I just shouted out "THIS... IS... SPARTAAAA!"
I was quite proud of myself.
edit: oh yeah and where the wild things are too.
it really did feel more like an art project. :P i enjoyed it though. cg was good.

Movies on DVD
Last one I watched was Spartacus. It was fucking incredible, end of story.

hahaha! Awesome.

I don't like Katherine Heigl. She's a bit of a douche and ditz rolled into one.

i thought christopher eccleston was good and could've gone on longer, but david tennant was immense so ::)

very much agreed. i'm still not sure how the new kid's gonna measure up to tennant/eccleston.
seeing eccleston now is pretty intense- i never got to see the first season when it was actually transmitted, i only ever caught the gasmask episode which fucked me up for days after viewing.
steven moffat is pretty good at writing SHEER TERROR
I watched The Rundown and GI Joe: The Explosion of Explosions (Explosion Edition).

The Rundown wasn't as good as I remember, but was still pretty decent. Way better than most of the Rock's recent movies (Witch Mountain? Tooth Fairy? Honestly.)

GI Joe was a rollercoaster ride of action sequences. It was pretty exciting and pretty much what I was expecting. Some of the tanks and subs were a little cheesy (a killer whale?) but the action scenes were top notch.
Pirated TV Shows
Last show I saw was Lost, last episode airs in spring 2010, might actually watch all the episodes then see the last episode aired with some buddies. This is pretty much my fav show, because it has everything, I can't even label it's genre without squirming.

I plan to watch Mad Men sometime, but I'm afraid of watching too many shows to the point where I become a computer chair vegetable, oh wait I already am.

Movies on DVD
Last movie I saw was Devil's Rejects for a Halloween occasion. The acting was awesome, but the scripting and the plot execution was pretty bad on Rob Zombie's part. I thought I wouldn't be saying this but couldn't the action scenes be a little more... actiony? It's like Rob decided that every violent scene must be loaded with soft southern rock music to illustrate some romantic point or something. Considering this is known as Rob Zombie's best film by his fans I really don't have a high opinion of him as a film maker. I have to admit the idea of a family of serial killers is interesting, too bad Rob didn't bother to develop the actual characters.

I guess you could say the actors were "rob'd of their potential" ba dum tsh.

Animu

I have not been watching anime at all lately, not even in the summer, though I do remember watching Last Exile, but that wasn't a recent show. Awesome to watch if you have any interest in steampunk.

Cinema

uh district 9? I never go to the movies.

TV: Usually I don't watch TV much, but during this autumn I've watched few shows like Late Night with Conan O'brien, Friends, Simpsons, Stargate and... Big Brother... The pretty normal ones.

As for movies... I'm usually only interested in movies with a twist or message in them, or which just tell about some simple things, rather than SPECIAL EFFACTS AND KICKASS ACTIONASDMFGAG

Latest movies I've seen (and enjoyed) would be Saw (only the 1st one was good, and not mediocre), Lost in Translation, and uh... Bruno.

And for animu, I haven't been able to find series lately that would hook me. Though I have Last Exile waiting to be watched, too, but I haven't got onto it yet.

I've been watching Stargate Universe and Dollhouse. They are sort of entertaining. The only TV show I ever actually liked a lot was BSG though.

Sometimes Fresh Prince is on when I get off work at 8 am so I watch that, it is still pretty amazing.

Oh, and I like to just leave reruns of Iron Chef on the TV all day. I find it soothing.

I'm kind of this way too, and with Mad Men as well, ironically. I have two seasons of it that I just haven't found the time to watch yet.
TV
I'm big into It's Always Sunny in Philadelpia. I remember making a topic here about it a while ago. New eps every Thursday, and I have all of the ones before that from all of the seasons myself. Hilarious show. Another show I'm following is Dexter (not Dexter's Lab), which is in its fourth season. It's turning out pretty interesting. Later at night, Everybody Hates Chris is always a good way to end the night. Also football!

Also, I have a guilty pleasure.

D-Degrassi...

Theatres
I can't remember the last time I went to see the movies, which is pretty weird because it wasn't that long ago! I always like going, though. I like the social aspect it brings.

Movies
Too many to count. I might rewatch Training Day or something, though.
Currently, I have plans to go through all 200 episodes of Sailor Moon (up to episode 25 now). I use to watch it when I was younger, but I never saw all of it. The western dubbed episodes had a lot of scenes cut, censored, or even just altogether changed. Recently, I found out one of the main villians switched genders during the transition between eastern and western (japanese vers: guy, english vers: gal). Overall, the japanese version is much more enjoyable, as long as you don't try to make too much sense of things.

Also, Sailor Jupiter can Thunder Crash me anyday. <3
