ADDITIONAL MISAO ERRORS

Alright I know this is probably too little, too late, but I just realized that some of the misao categories are dauntingly, incredibly vague, making nominations very difficult.
Just as an off-the-cuff for instance, the "Best Music" category...is that supposed to be best ORIGINAL music, or best USE of music? I enjoyed the music in Phantom Legacy more than the music in Dragoon Legends, but of course the music in Phantom Legacy was just stolen from squaresoft games, whereas the music for Dragoon Legends was written for Dragoon Legends?
Same goes with best graphics/artwork, etcetera.
Could I have some clarification here? Even knowing that given categories are MEANT to be subjective would be helpful? As nominations are about to end, this is very time sensitive.

Agreed with the above.
Also, as I stated in another thread, there have been issues with release dates for certain projects that probably need to be resolved somehow or another. Unless the game is episodic (or a demo), the re-release mentality is pretty ambiguous, especially for *finished* projects.
LEVEL DESIGN SHOULD HAVE BEEN LEFT AS MAP DESIGN ALSO

author=Max McGee link=topic=3210.msg63236#msg63236 date=1235447925It is meant to be subjective. You simply vote for what you felt had the best music/graphics/artwork. It is up to you to decide if you snaking resources affects your decision.

As for release dates and re-releases, re-releases don't count. A game is eligible based on its original release date. The sticky issue is with progressive demos. So long as the newer demo has updated content, I would consider it eligible. Unless a person is raping the rules and we end up saying no.
And no, it shouldn't, Blind. Level design is the standardized name for what that award represents.
Okay next question is when the fuck was Demon Legacy actually released?
(Also I wish we had Best Completed Game: Short Subject and Best Completed Game: Full Length. It doesn't seem fair to put The Mirror Lied and Demon Legacy in the same category.)

Why the hell is Backstage II nominated for best completed game? It is unfinished. :(

Good question! Will be removed.
I feel sad because I had a big fan turnout but all they did was vote for games for inelligible categories. : (

gosh darn it Max why in tarnation do you have to cuss like so
Just to let you guys know, the votes actually get counted by hand after the fact so most of these minor issues will become irrelevant.
Yeah I see what happened. Backstage was released in 2004 so I said it was ineligible for this year's misaos; they replaced it in every category with Backstage II (which we can count as being released this year), which in some cases didn't make sense, because Backstage II is an incomplete game.
I swear too much. It's because I was raised largely without a mother. : (
