I order 2 thousand bucks worth of stuff.

About 600 dollars worth of it (software) is dropped off at my front deck in broad daylight with no signature, even though one is required. Also, they dropped it off at 1pm, and I had specifically requested it be dropped off at 4pm or later. Three hours that my expensive as shit software could've just been stolen with no way to account for it.

Then, the rest of the order (a computer) fails to deliver because I wasn't home at 3:00pm, even though I yet again said AFTER 4 PM. The fedex terminal is like 20 miles away, so I said to just hold the damn thing so I can go pick it up myself.

The customer service rep says "we can't hold it until there have been three failed attempts to deliver." So I said, "....what?" And I had to wait on hold for 15 minutes to get a manager on the line, so they would just hold my order at the terminal for pick up.

Manager puts in the request, but advises me to call AGAIN tomorrow morning to make sure the package is still at the terminal, because "there are no guarantees." My order could still be on some delivery truck, and being shipped to my house at God knows what time, and if I'm not there (chances are I wont be) then they'll just send it back to the void.

Yeah, fedex employees have the combined intelligence of a puddle of primordial ooze. AVOID.

...And pray that I get my computer undamaged (or at all) :(

Just so you know, all of Fedex's smart people work in FedexAir. ;)
Ok thanks harmonic. I'll keep that in mind. :)
Your Fedex branch sucks or mine is awesome. My notebook got shipped via Fedex ground and I got it the same way I get 90% of my shipments: "We missed you so see us at X after 5 or any day after". I have gotten packages left on my front door before though, but that was through Canada Post ground shipping.

Here's hoping you get your new computer soon and undamaged (and not left by your front door), it sucks when you finally get something and it got screwed up in shipping. :(
I don't like Fedex anyway. I would rather go UPS, myself.
I'm so concerned...

As far as I can tell, most carriers are pretty unreliable. My boyfriend needed some medication (one dose costs an exorbitant amount of money) shipped in a cooler to him. Now this particular medication goes bad if it isn't kept cool. We had it shipped through the USPS next-day express mail or whatever, the one where they GUARANTEE it will get there the next day.

Yeah, sure, it showed up a day late. The meds had gone bad.

I'm beginning to think we have no one left to trust.

Thanks for the heads up... I hope all your stuff comes through undamaged in the end.
I will only add that I hate Fed Ex because:

They are called "Federal Express" but they are not, in fact, a federal entity and there is nothing federated about them.
But they do have the arrow!

(I can't believe I forgot to post this in my earlier post. I'm dissapointed with myself

Crisis averted, I got all my stuff intact.

Now the only problem is the external HDD I bought from Walmart seems to be defective. O_o
At least walmart is pretty good about trading it in for the same thing if yours didn't work.
