CloseI've been working on a hentai game for several years now, The Fairy, The Succubus, and The Abyss. If anyone is interested it would be easy to google it (but if you're not 18+, or if it's not legal for you to play games with adult themes, then please don't).
I noticed in the rules that some content is simply not allowed in games that are posted here. While my work is heavily influenced by games like Violated Heroine, it's also influenced by many RPG and Adventure games that I've played throughout my life such as Metroid, Zelda, Final Fantasy, and many others.
It's completely free, but development costs (portraits, sprites, sex animations) are all being paid for via Patreon funds.
I understand if such content is not allowed here, for whatever reason. Despite having the game posted on many hentai gaming forums, I still don't get as much feedback as I would like. I believe my main problem is that most RPG players are not into hentai, and most hentai seekers are not into RPG games, which then results in a very small demographic.
Well, if the game is allowed to be posted, but with sufficient warnings to potential players, then let me know and I will put said warnings in my topic.
As far as the game's content, it's not yet finished. I still need to add at least 5 more areas (most of them consisting of 3 maps each, and each map having one boss, enemies, treasures, etc..), some story content, etc.. Currently the game would take the average player about 30 hours to complete the content that's currently available.

I was certain that pornographic games were forbidden per the submission rules so I thought I'd link them. But it turns out only pornographic screenshots are forbidden and I can't seem to find anything in the submission rules that forbid pornography.

I believe it's been said on occasion that nudity/sex generally have to be implied to be acceptable on RMN. Such as a fade to black when a couple goes to bed. Or making a character hide behind a curtain (or like material) while dressing/undressing. Stuff like that.
With hentai games, nudity/sex is generally not implicit. It is very much explicit. Which could, possibly, fall under the "bad content" rule?

I believe the general practice has been that we essentially allow games that would fall under "R-rated" in the American movie industry but not anything above that. But I might be wrong.

The reason we do not host this type of content is because RMN has users under 18 years of age. Explicitly adult content has not been allowed.

I mean, your sample size here is the pits, and you're ignoring the possibility of jokes, or of people who approve of hentai, but not in this venue.

Um, you do know that anime breasts are not any more pixellated than live action breasts, right, and both are only pixelated in the sense that pixels are the basic unit of programmable color on a screen. Unless you're referring to the pixel filter that actually literally pixelates certain parts of the body in hentai put in place by Japanese censors with REALLY weird ideas about what is and is not okay to show (tons of rape? suuuuuuuureeeee. actual penis doing the rapes? MUST CENSOR) but that goes on the hoo-hoo dilly or the cha-cha, the boobs don't get pixel censored so yeah I really don't know what you're talking about visitor.

Serious (but unofficial; the mods already gave the official answer) Answer: No, but I think there are plenty of games on the site already that sure WALK THE LINE. Sounds like what you're designing is less "walk the line" and more "is clearly porn" though. I don't disapprove of porn but this is not the place for it. Also and just personally speaking here, I've never really wanted my porn to be in video game form. Like I don't really get that. As a thing.

- Softcore stuff (what TvTropes calls Fully Clothed Nudity)
- An Easter Egg, buried so deeply that no reasonable person would be able to get to it. I don't mean sorta hard, though. I mean solve the super-obscure puzzle that you have to do something special just to find said puzzle, or a hidden boss that also kills you in one hit without epic gear. If something is that out of reach, it essentially doesn't exist for the average player. Or just dummy it out, so only you can access it.
- Blacked out scenes where sex is implied but not shown
- Incredibly pixelated sex (like, so blocky and horrible looking you basically have to guess that's what's happening)

I actually have plans to make a PG (ish) version once I've finished making the game and ironed out all the bugs. It might be fun (and absolutely silly) to convert things like sex into "kisses". Or I could always go the EA/Maxis route, not actually show anything, and call it something like woohoo (but obviously something else, since they probably have a trademark on that).

@StormCrow. Yeah, there are a few that walk the line. The mods don't have an issue with porn and try not to be TOO unreasonably and strictly PG for the site, but there is a line they draw. Nudity and explicit sex is that line.

Okay, as the one who does the queue here's the official stance.
- games can have sex in them as long as it's not textually detailed or visually shown. This means CG images of sexual content is not allowed. Showing of genitals is not allowed in general.
- we do allow small pixel nudity and 'sex' as long as it's not detailed. We do allow artistic nudity as long as genitals are not shown. (for example, Venus de Milo would be fine. Main character flashing all her glory would not be.)
- We do allow some sexual content as long as it's not graphic or detailed. This means that mentions of sex, fading to black and talking about sex in general is fine, but actually describing scenes of sexual content is not.
A lot of it counts for intent. If you have something like Beautiful Escape: Dungeoneer then we might allow it (in the game is a choice for a pixel rape scene however it is shown to be disturbing, not sexy, and villainises the player for choosing it and the whole game is a psychological trip in that aspect.) Some games do have allusions to darker subjects but they are portrayed as horrible actions to occur and they don't go into huge detail about what exactly happened.
If you're really wondering if your game pushes it too far you can always send me a PM with examples of what is in the game and I can make a case-by-case judgement but basically, if it's anything like, say, Treasure Hunter Claire or Fallen/Makina then the answer is a resounding no.
