Ratatouille
5/5 stars
>> Watch it now!
Wait for the cheap theaters
Rent it
Watch when in comes on TV in a few years
Avoid at all costs
Ratatouille is the latest 3D animation feature film from Pixar (directed by Brad Bird, the guy who did The Incredibles). I recently watched it in the theatres.
THIS MOVIE IS GREAT. Go watch it now. It is superbly funny, subtle, quirky and just plain a joy to watch.
This story revolves around the rat Remy and his love affair with food preparation. He manages to team up with an inept and gangly french guy who's name is Linguini to cook at Remy's idolized chef's restaurant (he hides in Linguini's chef hat).
The animation is crisp and smooth and pleasing to the eye. Plus, there aren't any stupid Disney-esque happy-happy songs in this movie.
Bottom line is, this movie is entertaining and worth the price of a theatre ticket and a bucket of popcorn. It's probably in the cheap theatres (or will be soon) so catch it there if you can!
P.S. The animated short at the start of the movie is also excellent.

Over here where i live the movie is coming out in about a few weeks. I have heard a lot of good rumours from it and it will be the first animated movie that contains a Hospitality background. Can't wait to see it.
Disney movie songs rocked the cabash.
Have any of you actually watched Hunchback of Notre Dame? Those songs sucked the casbah. That's about where Disney lost their song making touch. Tarzan was *cringe* Phil Collins and the new songs they inserted into Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin (for the re-release DVDs) were even more cringe worthy.
Trust me, Ratatouille is much better without songs. It's a surprisingly adult/mature/not-catering-to-three-year-olds film for an animated cartoon.

I guess I really didn't have an interest in a lot of Disney movies from like 1995 so I know not of what you speak. I never paid attention to the new songs in Aladdin.
Old Aladdin songs = awesome.
Old Aladdin songs = awesome.
I still probably have all the old songs memorized... scary.
Also, Abu was awesome.
