CloseI am officially announcing my retirement from heading up RMN's website.
As Solitayre alluded to in his topic and in the general "theme" of this year's April Fools pranks being 'REVOLUTION!', I am in fact retiring from being the head administrator of RMN. Some of you that were paying attention have probably seen the signs - fewer posts (check the Stats topics for Top 10 Posts per Month), the depressing statuses, the fact that Liberty pretty much does all of the Featured Games, Gamespots and other frontpage updates, the lack of progress on site updates. It's all true. I am stepping back and down.
I've had a great run, I think. The site is still stable (and still around - I mean, how many other RM sites have shut down or otherwise turned into ghosttowns in the past few years?). And I have a very competent and caring staff to take over.
I made the decision a while ago and informed the staff back in February about it. I am going to devote more time to my job, my family, and I am going to attempt to make a commercial version of Hero's Realm (you can read about that initiative here http://rpgmaker.net/games/82/blog/15701/ if you like). So I will still be around, but just as an ordinary mundane unimportant user like the rest of you rabble.
So thanks everyone! It's been a great 5-ish year run of running RMN (and 8(?) years of admin duties). I will keep in touch as best I can. Stay tuned for more announcements about Hero's Realm DELUXE EDITION (if you are interested in that).

I salute you for the wonderful work you've done for this site over the years, kentona. I've always enjoyed your playful sense of humor and your wisdom. I hope you can reinvigorate your enthusiasm for making games and I'm totally rooting for your remake!

It's kind of hard to say whether this is an April Fool's joke. It seems so genuine, and there's nothing in this post for me to really pick apart. The only thing I notice is that his name, while having turned blue, isn't whited out, which leads me to suspect this is a prank, but I can't be sure. Won't be the same without the red Kentona with the "banne" hammer.

Yeah, my account was moved to a 'retired admin' usergroup so that I could still visit and post in the staff forums. Liberty wouldn't have bothered to edit it to show white.

Yea, for sure. He's been talking about it for a while... I'm gonna miss the troll statuses. We will have to continue to troll statuses to honor his memory.
Darn it, kentona. I'm too naive to tell if this is still part of the joke or if you're actually being serious. But if this is actually true, I can only say that you've done a great job keeping RMN together and I'm pretty sure everyone would support you in your decision, even though it would still be a real shame.
