NEW TO GAME MAKING, LOOKING TO START USING RPG 20XX - HAVE A RATHER NOOBISH QUESTION

I took a stab at making a game some 8 years ago, but my system crashed and I lost everything. I'm only now just getting the bug back. I think I used RPG Maker 2003 back then (not sure, really), but it seems that now, there are significantly better engines out there. So right now, I'm using RPG 20XX, and had a question about maps.
Whatever program I was using 8 years ago, I could load my own map from a picture file. I can't seem to find that ability in 20XX. Am I missing something? I'd think it would be intuitive, but then again, I have no idea.

Upload the picture into RM2K3 as a panorama. Set the picture to be the panorama of the map you want to use it for. You have cover the whole bottom layer of the map with the panorama tile (bottom right tile) for it to show up.
Does this still apply if I'm using 20XX? Just making sure that there wasn't a misconception and you thought I was still using 2003.
20xx no longer ports 2k3 games; it is its own separate thing now.

Please remember the Help Me forum is the place for topics like this.
Sorry about that. I went with subject, rather than with a general help. Suppose that should've made sense.
Panoramas don't show in the 20XX editor, so it's extremely hard to create a map based off a panorama image. You're better off just drawing the map yourself, possibly with the image you're basing yourself off open in another window for reference.
