OUYA?

we all remember this little cube with poor controllers from 2012, the kickstarter beastie that amassed 8 million, though we've all seemingly heard little from it after the release of the console? At least that's how I feel.
It's sad, such a promosing console, I love the idea of having an open-ish market low cost console, which opens up such a plethora of possibilities to both developers and consumers alike... Though from what reddit tells me the console's like utter piles of crap? idk
Razer apparently bought ouya like weeks ago and from what people are speculating they'll smother the console and absorb its library into their tv thingy.
I'm kinda sad.
Also idk i'm sleepy.
lol

The only thing I envied about Ouya was "The Amazing Frog?", but since it's out on PC now, I couldn't give less of a shit.
I only knew about it through Game Dev Story.
And I see controllers of it at my workplace.
But I have no idea what it really is.

I have an ouya, but I can tell you right now that while it was pretty good for emulation, the overall interface was crap compared to vanilla android.
I could complain about timing and specs too, but honestly; razer buying out ouya is probably the best thing that could have been done for it. If you really want a decent android gaming experience, get an nvidia shield. I have a portable now, which are really hard to get cause the design was kind of a flop, but the tablet should be ok.

I Kickstarted it because I am a sad, sad man. I used it solely as an emulator box, and it did pretty well at that. (Except for that controller. Woof.)
I think the only actual Ouya game I played as some sort of Quake 2-style-colored-lighting-extravaganza first person shooter. It was all right. I heard good things about Towerfall, but that eventually made it onto real systems.
Nowadays, for my emulation fix, I use a JXD-7800B tablet/all-in-one. It's pricey, but does an incredible job up to and including Dreamcast games.
