With the current review event that is going on, specifically targeting those games that were eligible from the McBacon Jam event I'm going to try and play and review them all within the 2 week time frame. However given the nature of the contest I know a lot of the games aren't polished and don't have all the bells and whistles the devs wanted to include. Most of the game pages seem to indicate that the versions currently available are not the final product and more will be added. Because of that I wanted to ask, when I review would you like me to not include a star rating? I've never not starred a review before but given the unique nature of this bunch of games and the fact that a lot of them are still be actively worked on I thought I'd ask.

I may not get to all of them, or I may burn out on the theme but if I do I'd like to take the devs views on this into account in this instance, simply because I would not normally review games in this state.

Let me know via the thread or a PM if that works better for you. One thing I will say given the collaborative nature of this if one of the devs doesn't want a score and the others do I still won't put one on.

Neither our game nor gamepage our completed at the moment. We will have another better working version within upcoming days, tho.

There is lota work to be done and some of the features probly won't be ever implemented. Some of the side-quests don't work at the moment and part of the balancing feels utterly unbalanced. We need some graphical changes too.
Still, I have no problem with our game being starred right away. Its my personal opinion and I haven't consulted this with Jo and Cash so far. But the game is presented with some version here and therefore player can play this version and not our intended ideals and plans or more polished version which is not out yet.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

We've already finished adding the bells and whistles, and updated the game to its final completed version, so go ahead and give a rating to Born Under the Rain.

Yeah feel free to give Ruin Frontier a star rating, don't mind here.

Doublepost, RMN is slowww
Yeah, echoing Cap's post, although ODP is still very unpolished, I also wouldn't mind a starred review. Although I may ask the reviewers the possibility of replaying the game after all bugfixes, balancing and adjustments that are still to come. XD

My own position is to not rate games that are incomplete. There's quite a bit to be done for Myriad Cypher, so, I don't imagine that we'll be having an update to it any time soon. Certainly not until well after the currently running review-event is done!

Could I BE any more Chandler Bing from Friends (TM)?

Disparity is woefully incomplete so we would rather it not be given a starred rating, if that's okay.
Don't bother reviewing my game at all. It's too short and incomplete. I wouldn't mind a review after I get a chance to put more work into it though.
Char hasn't answered here yet but I think she wouldn't mind either if we got a starred review. The current version is very much complete (though there's a lot we want to eventually add to it) and a review with stars would tell us how much we need to work on and give a general idea on how good/bad the game is currently.

Oh shit, lol – I JUST SUBMITTED A REVIEW FOR YOUR GAME JUST AS OF RIGHT NOW JUST BEFORE FINDING ALL OF THIS OUT FIRST! (Oh boy…)

Well…if it makes you feel any better, I did try and cut it some major slack considering that it was just an early beta build and you guys probably just wanted to submit something in just to meet the minimum standard requirements to get all of those achievement badges. I would take it down, but I kind don’t really want all that hard work to go to waste…

- Sorry about that! My bad. :P

Sorry, my friend, there's an achievement at stake. If your game is available, I am reviewing.
Oh, ok. Just give it no stars then. That's ok.

Come back and update your review after a game update. That would be cool.

Well, it looks like yours isn't actually up. In fact, for all the entries, it looks like there are only seven completed.

I did give mine a star rating, but I don’t mind giving it another go / re-updating the review once you manage to release another demo or complete the game to help improve its score. I’m doing the same thing whenever yuney manages to complete Tristian and I don’t mind doing the same with yours.

Ok, so this is what I've gleaned

- Rich Man, Poor Man: No star, in fact no review. OK
- The Retreat: No response, so no star just because ✔
- RUIN FRONTIER: Starred is ok.✔
- Born Under the Rain: Starred is fine and dandy ✔
- Disparity: No star, you got it.✔
- Myriad Cypher: No Star, no problem ✔
- divergence: No response, so no star, silence is not consent ✔
- Wolf and Kid: Starred is a go, cool.✔
- Our Desolate Planet: Starred is fine, though game still very WIP, sure.✔

Whew, done. 8 reviews, just short of 12K words. I'm going to sleep now.

This makes me think... imagine if there was a setting on games that, prior to any reviews being posted, let developers choose whether they wanted starred feedback, or would like N/A reviews. I wonder if that would make RMN, and thus the world, a better place?

I don't know Cash, perhaps, but then again as long as it is a recommendation only. Personally I write my reviews for two audiences, the developer to provide feedback and the potential players to let them know of any outstanding features, be they good or bad. The star system helps the player more than the dev I believe and I wouldn't like to short-change one or the other. I also think that could only be applied to unfinished games that are being worked on, if you've marked your game complete or you've abandoned it then it is out there in the world to be critiqued on its merits and therefore a rating is not only applicable it's bordering on mandatory.

In this particular instance there is one game (yours actually) where a starred review was acceptable, but I didn't end up including one for reasons I explain in the review itself. It made me really glad I started this topic because I felt much more comfortable doing that than I would have normally.

I do however quite simply adore your equating of RMN with the world.
