Anyone want an opportunity to earn some cash?

Some of you might be familiar with Tales of Vesperia or Tales of Xillia. At least, those are the ones I've played recently (what I'm referring to might be in the other titles as well).

In those games your party members gain a 'SP' stat (separate from something like AP/JP to learn skills) that they can assign passive skills with, using points from their SP pool. This is different from their active skills that they can use in battle, this system would instead give the party members a finite amount of 'passive skills' their SP pool would activate, considering they had enough to spare. Generally, your max SP is increased upon gaining a level.

I had some help in making this script via tweaking a FFXI script. Some of you may have FFIX pop in your head as having something functionally similar to this; passive abilities that party members would 'equip' using AP. However this is different than FFIX's system in a number of ways, notable, this is entirely independent from equipment.

Currently what I have is a somewhat tweaked FFIX skill that kinda does what I want. I had some help on it before but the guy, while I appreciated his work while it lasted, he bailed I guess. So if anyone is interested in picking up where he left off, we can talk shop via a PM, you can look over the script, and decide if you want to take a shot at it. We can talk from there.

First come, first served. This is an easy gig for a good scripter, but please only apply if you feel competent!
Fyi, how easy it'll be to pick up depends a lot on how well the guy commented/documented his coding. Since the guy tweaked it from an existing script, I'm getting the feeling a lot of his code is going to be bandaid fixes!

Anyways, you should probably mention what's done, and what's left to do, which'll give people an idea of the scope of your commission.

What happened to the guy who was originally working on it? Why'd he bail?

I'd like to take a look at it; I can at least give you an idea of what methods you're looking at to get the job done.

I'm understanding that 1) characters have their passives indefinitely once learned, 2) characters each have their own discrete pool of passives, and 3) they are allocating SP to turn these passives ON and regain SP to spend elsewhere by turning the passive OFF, correct? There's no party-wide anything going on here?

It's a bit, yeah.

By all means if a perspective is willing to make the script from scratch, that'll work too, and I'll respect that in compensation.

TDS was originally working on it, but I don't know what happened to him.

Correct on all counts.

That doesn't sound so terrible.

I've got an inbox here, and I'm pretty sure you have me on FB.
