First thing that popped in my head my FF IV and Chrono Cross that way I could explore a tropical lunar landscape.
Another one that came to mind
Xenoblade and Pokemon basically make a Pokemon game with Xenoblade's gameplay.
Zelda (It kinda counts as RPG) and Final Fantasy 5 it could be a Zelda game where you get job classes and learn skills that help solve puzzles.

I'd rather do genre crossovers. Like... I like RPG and I like bullet hell shooters. So an RPG were the combat is actually a bullet hell shooter might work for me.

Hm... This isn't narrative-wise either, but I'd really like to see a Pokémon real time strategy game. Although, apart from the fact it would probably become incredibly complicated seeing how many species there are by now, something like "Pokémon Wars" would probably be difficult to justify from a storytelling/lore point of view...
Narrative-wise, I guess I'd have to go with RPG Maker games, since I rarely play commercial RPGs these days. A crossover of The Reconstruction and Master of the Wind, maybe? Or any of those and the Arum universe? Now wouldn't that be something...?

I actually considered making a Pokemon SRPG once, but got scared off by the ridiculous amount of databasing and sprite work that would be required.
Given the rather large crossover between bullet hell and RPG fans, there's probably a million doujin games with that set-up by now, 75% of which will be Touhou fangames, of which 33% will be H-Games as well.
So, polar-opposite cross-over, eh? How about...

Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross yeah they are already in the same universe but what I'm proposing is a game where you can travel through not only different time periods (like CT) but also dimensions like (CC) Every time period would have an alternate dimension. It would probably get confusing but eh I'd still play it.

I don't think there is one in the way I imagine. As in plays like an RPG except for encounters which play like bullet hell.
There are Touhou RPGs, but they are basically RPGs with Touhou characters and don't have bullet hell elements. There are also bullet hell shooters that have some kind of exp/level up system. But that's not what I mean.

You run around with a Sora-type kid, with Kingdom Hearts type gameplay, while being online in a digital world and collecting Virtua Fighter character data chips or like netnavi type things, to unlock special moves. I guess Virtua Fighter x Kingdom Hearts 2 - From Level, also would suffice.
