HOW DO I GET A TESTER COPY TO WORK?

I uploaded a version of my game for testers only. Then sent the link to a friend but my friend was unable to see it instead he seems to have been redirected to the general downloads page.

Do I have to officially designate him as a tester? If so how do I do this?

EDIT : I think me and my Tester got the thing to work so ignore this post.
