but I'm damn sure there used to be a search bar in the upper right hand corner
of the screen.....

I had the same problem a while ago, and it persists.
I don't really mind it now though. I can do without.
I believe the cause to be Ghostery (I'm using FireFox). It seems to have blocked ads as well as hidden the search bar.

I remember when kentona changed the layout of the site and I asked him to put the #of downloads back on the left side where it was.
I thought he was being mean and removed the search bar on me :(
ah ha, used to use Firefox but had some trouble so switched to Chrome.
Google and or Windows 8 is screwing with me by holding up some game downloads and telling me that software could be dangerous to my computer. I have to tell it to kiss my...well, and let me use the software.
On the other hand, even if he is the "best dad ever!!!", our godly leader did not know FireFox and Chrome are messing with his game site :) I wonder if he will commence legal action :)

It's most likely something you installed recently that's affecting google stuff. Double check your extensions, perhaps?

Got the search bar back.
Liberty was correct. The only thing I download are games from this site and
rmn games from a few of the sister sites.
Something I must have done trying to resolve a computer problem caused this :(
I went into GOOGLE setting and went back to Orig. Settings and got the search bar back......yyyiiippppeeeee :)
