Today, February 15th, is RPG Maker Day!
In short, it's the day in which we are celebrating RPG Maker's 24th birthday. Obviously, we are celebrating with the "RM Venture" contest, which wraps up in just over a day! There's a lot more going on over at RPG Maker Web, though! Here's a run-down:

It's because Degica, the company that runs RMW, didn't have anything to do with that process. It was handled by a completely different production company at the time. Degica only came on with XP, so it's not so surprising that they'd 'forget' the existence of the console versions - of which I'm sure only the PSX version was translated (I own that one). The SNES ones are all in Japanese (indicating they were never released in English) and I'm not 100% sure whether 95 is a fanslation or a legit translation.
But yeah, Degica - only English, only XP+, only RMW. XD

I've been wondering about that, actually. The post-XP versions drew an almost completely new audience, with different communities and references and mores (adios, SNES rips). But RM2k/3 obviously were what made the brand's first worldwide success and demonstrated its viability.
In any case it's a shame if Degica are still so defensive about this, ten whole years later. Since they were not RM2k/3 developpers, they only ever benefitted from its less-than-legal success as free advertising. And we got quite awesome games.

I am about a month late, but nonetheless as an avid fan of RPG Maker:
