A GAME THAT'S YEARS IN THE MAKING

I've been working on an African fantasy adventure game on rpg maker xp for years and I'm hoping to finish it soon. I've never uploaded a game before so I have no idea how to do it. The game is roughly 180 MB, hope that's okay I believe I've seen larger games on this site. Also, can I submit stuff like screen shots before uploading the actual game and is that a good idea?
You just go to your profile and click on the "Submit a game" button. Yeah, 180MB, with RTP, is probably enough. You are required to submit at least 3 screenshots of the game for it to be judged and approved by the mods.
As Mr. D says, use the Submissions header in the black bar at the top of the page. Fill in the required pieces for your game to be sent into the submissions queue.
This means:-
- 3 or more screenshots of sufficiently different parts of your game. Title and Game Over screens will not count. Anything Porn is prohibited. It's recommended that you show off at least some of your best mapping. You are looking to 'sell' your game to the masses and have around 6000 other games to compete with, so choose your screenshots with care. If you are worried that your screenshots won't stack up, check out the Screenshot thread and ask for some help there.
- A well-written description. This means there should be minimal spelling or grammar mistakes, that it should be understandable and that it needs to be of sufficient length (around 300-500 words should be fine.)
After that your game page will be sent to the queue which, depending on how busy the submissions staff are, can take up to a week or two. Just be patient, they'll get back to you eventually.
When they do get back to you you will see one of two things - either a notice telling you the game has been accepted (the Notices heading in the black bar will flash when you receive new Notices) or that you need to bring up your standard a bit.
If the first, then go to Manage Games, under your name in the top bar, and choose to edit your game. From here you can add pages (for things like character notes, lore, walkthroughs, other stuff), more images, downloads and mess with information and page css.
From the download section you can upload your game. I recommend that you either compress the game folder (using either Winzip, 7zip or Winrar - all free to download and use programs) or compressed game data (using the in-engine feature). Then upload.
The site is happy to upload any files under 400MB in size. The hosting is free and more reliable than outside sites which may fail. You can add mirrors if you so choose, though.
If your game doesn't get accepted to the site, use the <<Screenshot Thread>> and the <<Game Description>> thread to polish your mapping and writing areas a bit.
I recommend also checking out other game pages (on the front page check the highly rated and new and noteable sections) to see how they're done.

Thanks for the help.
By the way if my game does get uploaded can I eventually update my game? Since, some player may find glitches that need to be fixed or I may just want to change some thing after hearing player fedd back I figure there must be a way to submit updated games.
Would I have to resubmit the whole game and have it be judged again. Also do I need to delete the old version on the site to make room for the new one.

Certainly! You don't have to remove the old download either (since that was a question)!
You can update the download file of the existing download, if you like. Some people prefer this as it maintains your download count. But you can upload multiple download files, too. Whichever you like! And once your game is approved, you have control over what goes on the page (to a degree! If you start adding porn or something mods have the power to deny your game!)

Thanks Kentona that's great to know cause I only have a few play testers and I doubt they can find every glitch.
Side Note: (I play test my game a lot)
I have another question should I have credits on a notepad or is having them scroll at the end of the game enough.
In other words whats the formal way people handle this stuff in RPGmaker games.
