Hello,
I'm looking to work on a new game that I've started. I have musical and writing background and have most of the ideas written. I'm looking for an artist or animator that can help out. Please shoot me an email at Topher8@gmail.com if you are an artist looking for a new project. Thanks!

What engine, what kind of game, information on the game itself, images and concept art... you want people to work with you, that you know what you're doing and what you want. You need to show them you're worth working with, especially if you're new to the site and they haven't seen your name around before.
There's a big difference between animations in 2k3 and VXAce, not to mention colour depth issues, size constraints and the set-up of chipsets/tilesheets and charactersets/sprites.
If it's a first game then this is the bare minimum you should show, if it's not, direct people to other games or projects that you have helped to create or created. This way you can show what quality you currently have, how experienced you are and that you can finish things and have staying power.
See, the issue with asking for help from others is that unless they know you or have seen your work around, they won't know that they can trust you or that you're worth working with. For example - I would jump in a heartbeat to help out someone like Nessy, Kentona, Deckiller, Craze and other people whose work I have seen, but not so much with those who I don't know. Why? Because I know they can finish games*, that they've worked with others before, that their skills are refined and that they're not going anywhere.
Another thing is that you need to show that you have the skills to take over in case anyone falls out of the group. If you want to lead in a game creation, you need to know how each part works so that you can pick up where other people left off. And yes, even the most dedicated helper can leave due to real life issues, so you need to show that you can do this. That's why having previous game creation experience is a good idea before you try to collaborate.
Anyway, do give a bit more information at least, so that others know what kind of style you want in your game and the like.

*Well, except for Kentona... and Nessy... and Decky... uh... heh heh. ^.^;

I apologize as I am fairly new to the site. I've worked with RPG Maker for some time now, made some games myself but nothing posted or public. I have writing, music and programming background but definitely lack in art. I'd probably be making a game in RPG Maker XP or even possibly RPG Maker 2003 (going for retro look). I'd be looking for animations, pictures and chipsets mainly but the more you can offer of course the better. If you need any further information please let me know.
Is anyone willing to try out a new RPG with me? I have the plans and design, I mainly need character sets, Face sets, and chip sets. Possibly some pictures but it would be very minimal. Most likely this will being in RPG MAKER 2003 unless something major makes me change my mind. Any takers??
