MISSING GAME DEVELOPERS

Wasnt sure where to put this, it isnt a complaint so much as a concern.
Anyway...
I am playing a game I enjoy but found a lot of glitches...mostly game stopping ones. I have posted to the game site to the developer to see what can be done and in fact there are others more or less in the same boat as me.
The creator hasnt been on since 5/8/13, at least on his game site...over a month and we are just twiddling our thumbs.
Naurually there are any number of valid reasons one isnt able to check the game on a consistent basis to answer questions, etc.
BUT I am wondering if a fail safe of some sort couldnt be integrated so that when something happens like this, someone could find out what the status is OR the developer themselves have a way of letting people know if something comes up in their lives.
Also on a lesser note it would be nice if when a game is presented that there is always a note as to how long a demo or completed game etc should be, if only a rough idea.
If I know a game is going to last only 30 minutes or so I wont even try it until a longer demo is up.
Thanks!

Regarding why developers go MIA all of the sudden and without notice, your guess is as good as mine. It is up to each of them to decide whether they care enough to let others know here. After all, they could always add a "Status" or blog about their absence.
Unfortunately, there isn't a real fail-safe in their absence, although games that have more than one contributor can usually get covered by others. Also, other RMN members who have played the game might be able to help, especially if the game's popular enough.
Regarding the length of the demo or completed game, sometimes the developer mentions it in the game description or blog related to the release. Otherwise, I suggest asking before downloading.

Thanks ed and yes I agree with you. Although on the last bit, I think on the page where it lists the pertinent info, it should be there. Besides I usually do ask if I am really curious. My thought was that if it seems to be a really good game and LOTS of people want to know more....it would save the developer a lot of time not having to answer that particualr question. I can imagine some of you guys having to say for the 10,000 time...this game will probably be about XX amount of time!
It does make a lot of sense to include that information. For some reason, many developers don't include it. Go figure ...
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Unsurprisingly, there's a pretty strong correlation between a bunch of players telling you that your game is full of tons of game-breaking bugs, and losing your motivation to keep working on the game.
That said, a month isn't very long. If there are that many bugs he might be working on fixing them. A lot of developers only really get to work on their game once every week or two.

Which was my thought exactly but I believe he would have said that he acknowledged it. He will show up eventually and as I said my post wasnt a complaint as much as a concern. I hope nothing has befallen him...I just want to continue on my merry way through the game.
Keep in mind that it's a hobbyist community and that a lot of members are fairly young. Younger people's lives and interests change pretty dramatically, so the developer might've lost interest in game development in general or their life might be in flux as they transition into or out of university life or whatever. Be patient, I guess.

Yes youre right and in fact I think this is his first game. Really friendly and helpful. It seems he just disappeared. Could be anything. Patience is a virtue they say.

Sadly, unless he let somebody here know, somebody knows him in person and can find out, or his profile shows some other way to contact him, there's not much we can do about it. Hopefully, as you say, it's not serious ...
