As you see above, there are plenty of projects surfacing that uses the Zelda Classic engine to make Legend of Zelda fan games. As a result, I would like to propose that the game engine's section would include Zelda Classic in its library.
The amount of games isn't the only reason I'm suggesting it, though. First, I'd like to spread awareness of the engine as it's pretty fun to use, and has options for both fanboys and advanced users (with the ZScript feature). Second, ZQuest games require that you have the Zelda Classic client installed to play them, and if this engine had its own category, I think it would settle confusion as to how to play a "quest" made with Zelda Classic.
What are your thoughts?

Fan Game should be enough to denote it - we've a lot more Final Fantasy fangames than Zelda ones so unless we're willing to give them all a separate category, it would be unfair. Then we'd have to add Dragon Quest ones and Breath of Fire ones and Sonic and... yeah.
This is not about Zelda fan games, but a program to make Zelda games. Just like there's a program to make Mario games? Well, I imagine that you could do more than Zelda games in it, but that play exactly like Zelda. idk... Anyway. I voted Yes, because, why not?

By category, do you mean a listing under the Engine option? Because that would make the most sense.
Yes, this is what I meant.
Alterego's post is kind of spot on. I mean, we have an engine category for SMBX, why not this program?
Sorry If I wasn't clear.
It's an engine people are using! That it makes Zelda games is about as relevant as SMBX is wit making Mario games. Make some icons for it and write up a description and I think we can add the engine to the site easily. Kentona does all that so he'll know the process better than I.
Btw, I seriously do not know how to use Zelda Classic load function. I know how to run the Zelda Classic game. But ummm, I download a quest, and the one time it was doing all the loading and stuff of files, it said something like Enter Password, and wouldn't finish loading.

The password system only happens if you are trying to load a quest through the ZQuest editor. That part of the program lets you edit the game, so developers have it password protected to prevent editing.
Instead, use the "zelda-w" file to open up games. After creating a file and inputting a name, press "x" on your keyboard and "x" again to load a custom quest. Look for the name of the quest you want to play (it shouldn't be any of the "1st-4th" quests), and load it. Press enter to play them.
I'm about to add Eclipse Origins engine today, so might as well add Zelda Classic! (and RM95?? does anyone happen to have 16x16 and 32x32 icons for those engines?)
I agree that ZClassic should be listed as an engine: It's up to version 2.5 now. And thus is much much more user friendly than previous versions. Plus, listing it as "Custom" feels like a fib.

Thanks Kent! :D

Oh, you mean regular RPG Maker 95. Oh, well, then, can't help you there...

Oh god the memories. I remember early on eventually finding out how to reuse the player's characters instead of recreating them all the time (making any attempt at their growth impossible) to eventually figuring out how to make a rudimentary world map that would duplicate characters (likely due to not setting the guest flag right).

That's Simulation RPG Maker 95 for making turn based strategy RPGs with simple damage calculations (ATK - DEF) and random stat gains on level up. It was alright as long as what you wanted to make was a SimRPG95 strategy RPG because there wasn't much leeway working with it. Also the first RPG Maker to hit 640x480 resolution, and not the x2 scaled up stuff of 2k(3).
Tactics Blade Episode One and Episode Two
A Chronicle of Talon
And then there's my big project + two contest entries.
I think that's it though. Maybe it doesn't warrant its own engine category after all.
