CloseI think the community portal page is redundant, unless it is added to. It is almost identical to the forum page.

no way. the latest topics, posts and statuses make the Community Page invaluable for keeping tabs on the site.
EDIT:
if anything, the forums are redundant, but I know that some people are hardcore forumers, and having forums in the Community droplist is a good visual queue for visitors to know we have forums. Also, some people don't know that the headers are clickable in the menubar.
