Some of you may have noticed you have 2 win conditions. For everyone who has 2 win conditions, it works like this:
Your first win condition is called the alignment win condition, and is shared between all people of your alignment.
Your second win condition is an individual win condition, which only you have.
Satisfying both win conditions results in a win. If you satisfy one of them, you get a half win, which is obviously worth less than a win, but more than a loss.

Mafia is a party game modelling a battle between an informed minority and an uninformed majority. Players are secretly assigned roles: either "mafia", who know each other; or "townspeople", who know only the number of mafia amongst them. In the game's "night" phase the mafia covertly 'murder' a townsperson. During the day phase, all of the surviving players debate the identities of the mafia and vote to eliminate a suspect. Play continues until all of the mafia have been eliminated, or until the mafia outnumber the townspeople.
The Roles:
Before the game begins, each player is sent a PM assigning him or her a role. The contents of the PM cannot be shared with other players. All roles are assigned randomly. There are three basic types of roles that you can get: Town, Mafia, and Independent.
Town (Police)
If you are part of the town, then your objective is to stay alive and try to find out who the scum are. Since you cannot communicate with other players outside of this thread, you must work together and weed out who is lying and who is not.
Mafia (Kira supporters)
The mafia, on the other hand, have a significant advantage over the town. They can communicate with other mafia members outside the thread in any way they please. During the night, they send a PM to the host (me) telling me which townie they want to kill. If all goes according to their plan (which it might not), then that townie will be dead -thus cannot post or vote- for the rest of the game.
Independents (Mafia)
The goal of an independent role is to simply stay alive until the end of the game. Though some independent roles have other win conditions. They have no set alliance, and can side with either the town or the mafia. An independent usually must be alive at the game's conclusion to win, unlike town or mafia members.
If all mafia members are killed, then The Town Wins!
If enough villagers are killed that the amount of mafia members in equal to or greater than the amount of villagers The Mafia Wins!
Game Structure:
The game starts out in something called a day phase. In this phase, all players who are not dead may participate in discussion as well as vote for who gets lynched (note that you can also vote for no one getting lynched). The day phase will continue until a set deadline has passed or when deciding vote is reached.
Once the day phase is finished, the night phase begins. No one may talk in the thread during this phase, meaning that only players with night actions play a significant role. Night actions are abilities possessed by special roles that can be used to alter the game during the night phase. All night actions, including the mafia's kill, will be sent to me via PM(unless otherwise stated). Once the night phase deadline is reached or when all actions are sent in, I will PM everyone involved with their results and then a new day phase will begin. If anyone dies, then that person will be revealed.
Rinse and repeat until the game is over...
The Rules:

4. IF YOU ARE DEAD, STAY DEAD: This game does not involve zombies. If you die, then don't post anymore. You can still cheer on your team/partner from the sidelines, though. I will make a separate thread for the actual game once it starts, making this thread a sort of "dead lounge" where dead players can chat (without revealing anything!).
5. EDIT RULE: You can edit posts to fix spelling/grammar mistakes and to bold votes. That's it, though. You can't actually edit the content of your posts. If you change your post, you must ALWAYS mention exactly what you changed.

“Hello, let me introduce myself, my name is Ryuk, a shinigami. I live in a parallel world to your human one, and I am bored to death. We shinigamis have these notebooks of death called Death Notes, which we can use to kill you humans. I came up with the best idea to combat my boredom. So what I've done is this: I gave my notebook to a human here on Earth, and started following him around to see what they'd do with it. I came to the conclusion that human are quite... interesting... As you of the police should all know by now, the person I gave my notebook to has started killing all criminals in the world, trying to create a world in which he can rule like a god. He gained a lot of support, I'll tell you. 16 of you have gathered here today, in this warehouse you call the Yellow Box. As you probably figured because of my presence here, not all of you have good intentions.”
Suddenly, a maniacal laugh bursts out of the crowd, followed by the voice of a young man:
“That's right... I... Kira... God of the New World am here... I'm not alone, and I will kill you all, police.”
All turned their heads in the direction of the sound, only to see a lonely voice recorder sitting on the ground.
“Well, I guess this will be it, then.” All turned their heads again to see a young black-haired man sitting on a chair, his knees up to his face. “I am L, and I will find out who here is Kira, and eliminate him.” “Shinigami Ryuk”, a young boy with hair as white as snow, said, while playing with some lego. “Have you secured all entrances to this warehouse?”
“Obviously! I made you come here to combat my boredom. It's not like I'm going to let anyone of you escape! Hawr Hawr hawr! Nobody here's leaving until either Kira and his followers are finished off, or they've killed all of you police people, Near.”
“Thank you, Shinigami Ryuk. In that case this really will be the final stand in our battle against Kira.”
“You need to lighten up, Near, we may as well enjoy this situation.” Everyone turns his attention to the young brown-haired man, standing away from the group, facing the wall.
“Light Yagami... I suspect you are Kira, and you will not leave this place alive. Justice will be served...”
“Me? Kira? Hahahahaha! I knew you could make jokes, Near, you learn fast.”
“Alright then, humans. I will give you some inside information to get you started. Amongst you are:

Night 0 flavor
After a heated discussion took place about who could be Kira, everybody went to sleep, as it was already late at night. Nobody could get a lot of sleep, but eventually the sun crept over the horizon. (Not that anybody saw that, you being in a warehouse and all) And everybody assembled. After a quick headcount, only 15 people were seen. It was only then that a lonely body was spotted, lying the way he had gone to sleep.

Day 1 flavor
After Mogi's death, everybody started discussing who was Kira, and who were his three accomplices. Feeling bored Liberty pulled out some chocolate and started nibbling on it. Mello spotted her and made a dash, but was too late. She'd eaten all of it, and had already entered sugar overdose banana mode. While everybody was being annoyed by Liberty, thatbennyguy became a suspect after asking some questions, and ivoryjones tried to convince CAVE_DOG_IS_BACK that if they lynched thatbennyguy, it would be her bandwagon, not his, but CAVE wasn't fazed. It was then that the puppydog itrombe claimed being Watari, a weak doctor, to which Gourd_Clae immediately responded itrombe was probably Mello, and, claiming Near, said Mello had to die for him to win.
Having recovered from her overdose, Liberty started spouting meta arguments all over the place, and everybody had looks of disgust on their faces while trying to stop her from talking. CAVE put on his angry face and started a discussion with Liberty regarding her alignment. During the long discussion ivoryjones and MrChearlie claimed to be partners. Everybody believed one of them had to be a follower of Kira, but neither CAVE nor Liberty could get enough votes on the other to get anywhere. In the end, the sun set, and everybody went to sleep, even though no decision had been reached...
“Oy, Light! How are things coming along?”
“I would appreciate it if you didn't show up all the time, Ryuk. L and Near aren't fools. They'll suspect something.”
“HawrHawrHawr!They already suspect you, don't they?”
“That they do, but there are other police here, in case you'd forgotten. Oh well, I guess I should be thankful to you for bringing them all here where I can finish them off.”
“Just remember, Light, if you fail, I will not hesitate to write your name in my Death Note.”
“Me? Fail?”, Light said as he got up. “I am the god of the New World, there's no way I would lose. Everybody should be asleep by now, I guess I'll start thinking about who I'm going to kill tonight. I promise your game will have an interesting end.” Light walked away to meet up with his fellow conspirators.

Night 1 flavor
It was a truly terrifying sight chana saw when she opened her eyes. The first thing that was noticed was Gourd_Clae, lying in a bloody mess with a bullet in his chest. Beside him was lying a note, covered in blood, but still legible.
Gourd_Clae, who was Nate River, was killed by a bullet night 1!
about Nate River:
chana walked over to thatbennyguy´s bed, who was sleeping near, but when she got there, the bed was deserted. She quickly looked around but he was nowhere to be found. A little ink was left on the floor, suggesting he'd left a note, but the note couldn't be found. There was only one thing she could deduce from the scene:
thatbennyguy has gone missing night 1!
chana quickly assembled everyone and explained what had happened. 4 people were still missing: MrChearlie, ivoryjones, Marrend and Watari.
Heading on over to where MrChearlie had been sleeping, they saw ivoryjones crying by the lifeless body of MrChearlie. Watari was standing beside her with the gun he had stolen from her. Judging by the situation, it looked like ivory had tried to kill herself, but had been stopped by Watari.
MrChearlie, who was Raye Penber, has died night 1!

The last thing that was noticed was a heap of sand lying on the floor, with a Death Note in it. It could only be assumed this was Marrend.
Marrend, who was Rem, sacrificed himself night 1!

After seeing all the terror that had happened during the night, the 11 remaining people assembled to discuss who to lynch.

Anyway, I apparently have a secret power that tells me the alignment and flavor of who killed me but not their power. I was killed by Mello, and he is most definitely mafia(as in independent) Also, another tidbit for you guys: Marrend is pretty much the ????. Because my awesome role also came with info that marrend was a shingami. A death god who makes sure people die apparently. Also, MrChearlie died. :C By the Marrend by the way. Also, note that Marrend is Rem if that helps determine his actual role at all.
Also, I believe today Cave AND itrombe are mafia. Cave is going to try to get you to kill itrombe. You'll see itrombe was mafia and trust Cave. Kill itrombe, but also Cave. M'kay? Also, I had other things I was going to say but realized SOME of them were dumb, realize that not all of them are. Chearlie is obviously innocent for one. Also, the Cave and itrombe arguement following is still legitimate as well.

That out of the way, let's get down to business. For some reason itrombe didn't die which means he's mafia. Also, Liberty was sooooo scummy she's toatlly mafia. MM defended her so he's mafia.
But, wait! That's using cave logic. Town, I have some instructions for you and it's :
Lynch Cave Dog. Do it. There is no reason for itrombe to be alive, but that would make it perfect for him, an innocent townie to be lynched. However, I was killed by mafia: This is something that is also a part of my role that isn't released when I die. When I die, I'm informed if it was mafia that killed me. Mafia killed me. If itrombe is dead, then CAVE IS MAFIA. Do NOT let him duck out of this. The other person I suspect is Marrend. Marrend has been sooooo cryptic with his posts and generally lurky like he has been when previously mafia. He has also done nothing for town. Nothing. Liberty was hounded by Cave so much she's innocent. rabitZ is a nulltell. Just because he was acting completely innocent does not mean anything.

In that order. MM is low on my suspect list but still there, because Cave did not directly attack MM after he said Lib wasn't at fault (though she obviously was). And MrChearlie because he was the very first on the Liberty bandwagon. Now, if a bandwagon is started by mafia another mafia is usually going to help the badwagon look like a good idea because people are more likely to join the more people there are and vice versa. The most likely person to join is another of his group, that being mafia theoretically.
IF ITROMBE IS ALIVE:
Ask him who he protected first. If he protected cave: Then Cave and itrombe are clear. The only person cunning enough to fake being weak doctor with someone as inexperienced as itrombe is cave. However, Cave would never allow itrombe to protect himself (Cave) because he knows that if town kills off itrombe, he'd be fucked. Therefore: If either are mafia it's one or the other. If itrombe lives and says he protected Cave they are both clear.

The most likely person to join is another of his group, that being mafia theoretically.

chana walked over to thatbennyguy´s bed, who was sleeping near, but when she got there, the bed was deserted. She quickly looked around but he was nowhere to be found. Naomi Misori and Shuichi Aizawa decided to stay awake that night to witness what was about to happen. Mello made for Misa Amane, who grabbed the Death Note to write his name down. Mello was faster, and grabbed Misa's arm, making her drop the Death Note. Kiyomi Takada was torn. She absolutely hated Misa, but was it the right thing to let her die after she'd helped them get so far? Mello raised his gun to shoot Misa, and at that time, Takada crashed into him. Surprised, he dropped his gun, and Takada picked it up. Quickly, she wrote the name Mihael Keehl on her page of the notebook, and ran away, still holding Mello's gun. Misa got up and followed her. Mello tried to give chase, but after failing to catch them for forty seconds, he collapsed. Naomi and Aizawa looked in horror as Misa and Takada returned to face them. Both grabbed a page of the Death Note and a pen, and 40 seconds later, Naomi and Aizawa collapsed too.

Actually, your first paragraph do brought up a good point. But the thing is, if you're townie and have 2 conditions, wouldn't that, say, also might give off the vibe that you're scum?
I am merely stating that while the concept of it is refreshing and interesting, it is another thing to actually execute it. And where did I say I'm stuck with a bad objective? Are you even sure what I'm 'mad' at? I'm mad that I've got a 'useless' role again like last time.
