REACTION IMAGES AND THE USE OF
Posts
Uh, are we allowed to use reaction images? Must a post include enough "real" content to warrant a reaction image? Are they banned completely? Are they acceptable in blogs but not the forums, or vice versa?
I remember WIP went on an anti-image macro tirade, and geodude once brought down the screenshot thread with pictures of David Bowie or something, but it seems so silly to me. I'm especially interested because I have seen some users warned for their use and others not at all.
There is nothing in the code of conduct or terms of service about them, for the record.
Am I personally for them?

I think image macros are kinda obnoxious myself. I'd expect/tolerate them in the welp welp forum, but in normal conversations? I don't think they should be allowed. I guess it depends on the seriousness of the thread...

This is why there should be set-in-stone rules. I find a topic about celebrating Max McGee not-so-serious, but somebody else might think it entirely serious.

excuse me this was a calculated act please do not lump me in with the image macro people
We had a staff meeting a couple of weeks ago were we agreed that the policy is that image macros and all that shit it frowned upon and that we should generally warn anyone using them.
In moronic they're a bit less forbidden. And in topics like "post your favourite macros" or "what about them macros eh?" they're probably allowed.
But other than that it should be a warn on sight. And if you see any, Report it so we can get this shit off this site as efficiently as possible.
That's the official stance. until someone contradicts me.

I say let them stay, but only so we can brutally mock anybody who posts one. If it starts become a standard practice then we'll have a problem, though.

Fair enough. I suggest that kentona alter the code of conduct accordingly? Warning anybody for it earlier to that is pretty =/ given how there was no official statement.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Edit: So I guess I just don't like these weirdly specific kind of social rules. It makes me feel like next we're going to have a dress code or outlaw mentioning anyone's gender or ban use of anything that could possibly offend anyone. But I guess in this case it's a pretty easy and harmless one to follow.
(Also I'm not sure I've ever used an image macro in my life so eh whatever)

If he is bombarding everyone who opens the thread with the same gifs, then it is fair! If he is sending you obnoxious images privately via PMs that is not fair. (In fact sending any kind of PMs to anyone is unfair!)

(user was asphyxiated for this post)
its more like, you are not a teenager and I am not your parent. quit trying to push the boundaries just for the sake of it.
No image macros.
(or you will be grounded. and no, you can't take the car out tonight.)

I wonder if having a babby prepared you for Administering RMN, or the other way around?
I still can't grasp how a new user reading "be courteous" is going to infer "don't post a 'my body is ready' image" so as not to be warned.
On that note, who sees/knows of/tallies warns? Is there an actual count, or do mods just have a slap-on-the-wrist button that the other mods don't know of?

Well, I'd guess that's why the warning is given out. To let people know not to do it. It's not like they're giving out a punishment the first time you do something. It's just a... warning. To let you know about the rule. One could say that the code of conduct page is a list of warnings as well.
