CHALLENGING/VERY DIFFICULT GAME

Anyone know any games made with rpg maker that fits the criteria?
I'm tired of these way too easy games that bore you with too many fights, which are like 500MB each and I always end up deleting them after playing for about 15 minutes.

Remember when I actually used to make games? Me neither.

Complete Chaos has quite difficult battles IMO after you get into the game.
Try some of my games. I get told they're far to hard. Celdran's Curse and Incarnation. Also, try the Befuddle Quest series for puzzles that will blow you away.
Zero Base is rock hard.

BUT.

It's not an RPG (although it was made with rm2k3!)

Onyx 2: http://rpgmaker.net/games/144/

Speak No Evil: http://rpgmaker.net/games/1226/

Both are funky, gritty, rough-around-the-edges and difficult 2k3 romps. They're probably more interesting/inspired than a lot of the mapping-based games in the community, too - and unlike those games, 100% complete.

SNE has terrible trees though. Like, seriously, they're fugly. I make fun of them to this day. I'm sending ChaosProductions a message this second that says "your trees in SNE sucked lolol."

Is only about as hard as the average jrpg almost the entire time.
Is Phylomortis still around? Half the battle is parsing the dialogue (no shade...okay, maybe a little) but the actual gameplay should be challenging enough for most people.

(Socrates would certainly not contadict me!)

I REALLY have one for you : Underworld : Land of the dead (and its sequels, I think), but DEFINITELY that one.
Good old Dhux's Scar is also a pretty challenging game, as far as "standard" JRPGs go.

hahahaha if you listen to the conventional wisdom, every single thing I've made fits the bill. I don't really agree but, w/e.

Try Everything Turns Gray or Journeyman if you're in for a challenge. Unfortunately, neither one is complete at the moment. Both are probably pretty challenging, though; so's Vermicide, and it's complete, but short.

If you're looking for something more short term, I dare you to beat some of these. Be sure and do some reading first to pick out which ones are actually hard versus which ones are just shitty/awful.
Vindication is what comes to my mind whenever the term "very difficult RPG" is brought up, at least in the indie/DIY RPG making scene.

Actually Kinetic Cipher made by that asshole Brickroad is pretty freaking hard, IIRC. And the Phylomortis games are not only hard, but also impenetrable, which only adds to the difficulty.
Phylomortis 1 isn't THAT hard, just grindy.

yeah those trees sucked
Maybe Legacies of Dondoran. I say maybe because it's all good if you grind levels now and again, but there was a serious difficulty spike at the end, if I remember correctly. Also, Iron Gaia: Virus could be considered hard due to a time limit. It really depends on how you play. Level Grinder, Every Battle Completionist, or Runaway Chicken.

Legacies of Dondoran has excellent pacing/difficulty growth... until the final dungeon. At L99 with all of the best equipment, I had to cheat to beat the final boss.

That's entirely uncalled for. Also:

Craze: Apparently Legion thinks that you are an asshole and has stated so on the RMN forums.
Brickroad: So?

Sidenote: KC(A) is an absolutely fantastic game that you should probably play if you care about RM* gems at all. What it does with 2k3 without trying to "break" it is incredible.

Exactly, Craze. I made it through that last dungeon, but the final boss is what made me get acquainted with Cheat Engine.

Coincidence? No idea. But I just got through adding it to the Catalogue. :D
Seconded with a recommendation.
