Cookie Mountain Quest is a candy-themed mini-RPG with a lot of heart, polish and fun ideas.

You play a brother and sister on a quest to rescue a Prince from an evil Gummy Dragon. Along the way, you travel through various sweet-themed lands such as a fairy floss forest and encounter such allies as a talking choc-chip cookie.

The game mechanics revolve around switching between the two to solve various puzzles, as the brother has a melee attack but the sister has a ranged fireball useful for reaching switches. There is nothing too taxing in the puzzles and the longest puzzle can be solved by asking a nearby, grumpy NPC for hints.

The game has been made with a considerable amount of light-hearted charm (raisins are the enemy!) and is "choc-full" of puns. There is a world view reminiscent of Super Mario World and real-time battles a la Secret of Mana. The content is also suitable for all ages, so if you've got kids - let them at it!

Having been made for a game jam, there are a couple of parts that are slightly less cohesive than others, however a playthrough should only take around half-an-hour and there is a delightful turnabout at the very end, which caps off the whole experience really well and helps explain some of the more random elements within.

There are bonus badges to collect, although this reviewer couldn't find them all, so the hunt for those may take you longer!

Overall, Cookie Mountain Quest is a yummy mini-RPG that will leave a delicious taste in your mouth.
