Painting the Convent Red

Minor Spoilers in this review

The game starts off with 16-year-old boy going camping with his family. For some odd reason, he went off somewhere else onto a small deserted campsite, he got cold so he went to warm up to the fire someone left burning. Then he starts to notice bloody footprints going into the tent; like the curious person he is, he follows them to see what happened. Upon entering the tent, he reads a note from a Sister from a nearby Convent; learns that something terrible happened there. After exiting the tent, the way back to the boy's family is blocked by statues, so the only other thing he can do now is to go forward.

After entering the Convent, witnessing blood splattered everywhere ; the additional horror of finding out that he can't leave because the key he used to get in has disappeared, the boy decided to look around the area to find another key to exit the Convent as quickly as possible.

While exploring the Convent, you will find helpful notes left written by various Sisters before they perished, listen to what they write; you won't die, simple as that, literally, the Sisters spell out exactly what you should and should not do, instead of writing riddles and vague information (with the exception of one).

Bugs and other issues:
-When entering a room with no walls vertically, you can walk off the room onto the black tiles, thankfully you can get back into the room just as easily.
-There are minor grammar issues throughout the game; some felt awkward to read.
-At one point of the game you'll obtain a saw and a glass shard from a mirror. You'll need it to cut open a body to obtain a key inside. Guess which of the two items needed to cut? If you guessed a saw like I did, then you're wrong, the protagonist wants to use a glass shard to cut open a body... Personally I'd find it easier to use a saw to cut something open, but that's just me.
-In one room where you have to kill a snake using human blood to get to an important item behind it, you are forced to let it bite you; then the snake explodes. You find out that the snake was venomous; was forced to cut the infected hand before the poison could spread further into your body. Worse thing is that the situation could have been easily solved without losing a hand had another character in the game kept the bucket; gave it to the protagonist, instead of throwing it away. Sure there may not be human blood in the bucket now, but there's gallons of human blood in a bathtub that you get to see very early in the game. Just collect the blood from the bathtub; viola! Human blood without having to resort myself to being bitten to expose the snake to its weakness!
-Killing the strongest demon was anti-climatic

What happened at the Convent is explained near the end of the game, which is a good thing, I'd love to know why demons and monsters were slaughtering everyone; the answer was revealed to me. To be honest, I didn't find this game to be scary, seeing blood splattered everywhere does not make a game scary to me; jump scares doesn't help it either. Then again, I might be used to seeing blood since I see plenty of it as a criminal justice student, so it might be scary for someone else who's not used to seeing blood. The good ending of the game was somewhat satisfying (and would have been even more had I not lost a hand from letting a snake bite me instead of just dumping a bucket full of blood at a snake... This is why you should keep everything you obtained just in case it has more than one use...)
