Leo and Cat is a RPG Maker VX Ace game made for the Swap In The Middle With You event. This game was started and developed for one week by supersonicsoda and finished by sjmorgan whom attempted to stick to the standards set by his predecessor while creating a potentially dark conclusion to the tale.

In Leo and Cat, you play as a cursed human named Leo who travels with a cat named Cat. The Eye of God activated two years ago giving Leo five years to live, but granting him some unusual abilities. Our eye patch wearing hero seems less concerned about removing the curse than his logical companion Cat.

Gathering information has generated a lead near Holbrand Town, drawing Leo and Cat to an unfamiliar region. Can the Hermit north of town really help Leo with the curse, or are they on another wild goose chase? Are cats really magical being descended from dragons? Why does eating Noodles make you OP? While every question may not be answered, a conclusion to the plot itself is a sure thing!

WARNING. This game gets darker where I take over. The conclusion of this tale has 4 possible endings, and they aren't all for those weak of constitution.

BELOW IS TIPS ON HOW TO BEAT THE GAME WITHOUT GETTING ANGRY OR NEEDING TO RAGE QUIT.

This game gets hard if you don't bother talking to every NPC or actually spending your gold on stat gains you are meant to use. You should probably use the Noodle Shop when you arrive in town, then again after the road is cleared to head east. Try using it again right before fighting either of the two bosses if you're still stuck. Def and MDef will neutralize the otherwise high damage, and ATk will make you hit like a golden god. It's not difficult to win knowing this, and NPCs are happy to tell and remind you. If you've made bad buy choices and don't want to grind more gold, there is an easy win method. Sell the weapons you find thru the game at the general store anytime after you've finished the cane fetch quest. The huge gold gains given by later weapons will allow you to buy excessive, massive stat gains to make the game a laughable cruise control adventure.

A cute premise with dark twists? Sounds like something I'd be interested in!

I'll give it a shot.
Big bug:
When entering the mayor's castle the guards say repeatly "the mayor is just ahead"
Can't do anything.

Similar, but only 2x when asking the shop owners for the cane.
Please stop this when ending the sidequest.

Your theme reminds me of the demon cat of another game.

I didn't have either of those bugs occur during any of my tests of the first half. Just believe me when I say I can list a lot of fixes I applied when I first got this to finish.

The guards both slowly moved for me the fist time I entered the mayors, but I did already have business there. I'll check it now Firefly and add a move or dialogue change.

When I went to see the major, I'd already gotten the key from the chocolate girl and given it to the hermit. We talked in his hut and I was sent to the mayor where they let me in.

Edit: I've got it. A loop was triggering some BS. Fixing it now. Strange I played through twice and it never happened to me. :(

I also just learned those canes accidentally were free. LOLOL. Fixing that.

Reuploaded.

It's come to my attention that the second half of this game is "merciless" and "way too hard." Let me put it out there in plain english.

There is a reason multiple NPCs blatantly tell you things like "Why am I so strong? I eat noodles." "I should have eaten more noodles." The noodle shop has an NPC that tells you what the noodles do. Supersonicsoda made a noodle shop before the game was handed over to me, and for almost no gold at all, you can buy + 10 perm stat boosts. I used it on my test play and the game was easy. I balanced difficulty around using it and managed to complete the finished game just fine by using the shop.

Had I balanced just to levels, and the contest rules didn't allow me to nerf the shop down to +1 boosts, we'd of had a rolfstomping one shotter ending for anyone that entered the noodle shop and used it.

Before people lose their hats over difficulty, at least look at your basic means to gear and stat up in a game. Thank you.
Hi,

I'm in Noodle Shop and I have a question. The Tonkotsu Ramen increase the ATK by 10, but Miso Ramen does absolutely nothing. I thought it should increase DEF/MDF, but it's not. Is it a bug?

Sounds like a bug. I'll look it over.
