Princess Alanadale |

New info as of 4-11-04: This game is cancelled. It died a long time ago, because my computer crashed and I lost every backup I had. I was, in joking terms, nearly suicidal. I had written up this big long thing about the details of the hard drive crash and backup loss, but it got deleted in mid-upload, which has hillarious since it was just all too perfect. In any case, Princess Alanadale is no longer in development, although will be again sometime in the future. If it is any consolation, look at the screenshots and wish about what would have been, since when I begin anew the graphical style will be slightly modified to better suit my new game, Wilfred, the Hero, and Teo's improved art direction. Tchus! New Info as of 12-02-04: Progress has ben slow, as I am creating an entire game
by myself. :) But I've been getting some graphics done, including
the Metropolis area (check out the new screenshots!). This game just
keeps getting better and better and more fun to work on as I make
it. It'll be done before you know it! Other than that, there's not a lot of news to report; I've been doing the same things I was doing the last time I updated, I just have more of them done now. The major objective is to flesh out and complete Metropolis City, since the rest of the game kind of revolves around that area. Then I can do the surrounding areas, such as dungeons and the like. Keep coming back for more details!
Introduction (10-08-04) *note* Click on the images to load them up in full size. Princess Alanadale is an RPG that I am developing using RMXP. It's a somewhat-abstract art game that I'm making. But, if you're at this site, you probably already know that. The gameplay is pretty straight-forward old-school RPG, with lots of battles and a Dragon Quest-esque combat system (see below). There's a lot of animation, and the media is 100% original. Yes, that means I am drawing HELLA lots of graphics as well as composing a pile of music. So far, it looks pretty promising, with lots of running, jumping, swimming, et cetera done to travel from one point to the other on the maps. My objective with this game is to make something with a lot of cartoons and an entirely unique feel. It is, in the end, a computer game, however; so I also strive to make it *FUN*. This is, in every sense of the word, a Classical RPG, however, so you will need to keep that in mind if you decide to take an interest in this game. I will not be introducing any new ideas in that sense. The game follows the adventures of Wilfred in his quest to rid the world of the Evil Demon Dragon and rescue Princess Alanadale from his vile clutches. During his travels (which are 100% non-linear, btw), he will travel to the Rabbit Grotto and rescue the Rabbit Men from the evil Ilmole army, stop by Lighthouse Deus and rekindly the Forever Flame, ascend the Learn'd Spire and acquire the Infinite Knowledge, wrest the mystical EyeCarrots from the hands of the DarkBeavers miles below the Earth's surface in the dank DarkBeaver Depths, just to name a few. It will probably be finished in about a year or two, but I'll have a playable demo out a long time before that. Check back here for details!
