How to not land on the water with a flying vehicle

Article

Find out how to not land on water or trees while flying a flying vehicle

Don't you just hate it when you are in a flying vehicle and you just land on the water where you move around? Well if you do, read on...

----Intro----

This is a really short tutorial of how to not land on water or trees while flying a vehicle.

----Step 1----

Create a new event and put it on the "Same Layer as Hero."
You then copy those events (ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) them where ever they need to go. For example, copy the events and place them on trees and water and other things.

----Conclusion----

Now, when you fly and press the action key over trees or water, you will not land and walk around, you will just stay there.

I know what you guys mean. I wasn't very good at rpg maker when I made this tutorial so i had no idea you could do that. Now, I do. Lol, thanks.

Also, putting the event on trees will not work if you want your hero to be able to walk through the trees. Just use the database.

Actually I would consider them less knowledgable about the engine, the proper way to do it is to set it by terrain in the database, as creating a bunch of events increases file size, takes longer, and would cause problems if you wanted to create an event that does something else on the terrain. This tutorial is actually pointless.

Athough when you copy and paste events around the place, and somebody is watching you, they'll think you're more tech savvy then you really are, so thats a plus.

I agree with Little Wing Guy, changing the terrain settings is much easier and can be done from the systems page in the Database.

Actually, another good way to do this is by changing terrain settings on the database. You can tick the type of terrain you want a Airship to land and what a ship can cross, e.g water. I personally think its easier.
